My Music, My Manchester

How do you find the voice of a diverse city? Young and professional musicians come together in a musical celebration of Manchester's diversity and its rich, modern culture.

MyHub presents My Music, My Manchester, a week-long creative residency and performance project for young musicians, with internationally renowned musician / cultural activist Meklit.

A group of young and professional musicians from across Manchester creatively explored questions of home, place, city, belonging and identity.

Using sounds of the city and their place within it as inspiration, the group created a new five-piece song-cycle that was premiered at the BBC Philharmonic Studio in a celebration of their city.

My Music, My Manchester is a MyHub project, coordinated by Brighter Sound in collaboration with Manchester Camerata and with support from Music Action International, Z-Arts, One Education, Band on the Wall, RNCM and the BBC Philharmonic. Funded by Arts Council England, Manchester City Council, MyHub and Youth Music.
